About This Position

As a Penetration Tester at Conversant, you will help our clients improve their security posture through your technical skills and strong knowledge of defense strategies. You will analyze scenarios, provide solutions, and make recommendations to protect the environment, customers, and employees. Working both independently and with the security team, you will promote security best practices in both our internal and our customer’s environments.

As a successful penetration tester, you are a motivated self-starter interested in working in a fast-paced and dynamic technical environment attempting to breach client computers, networks, systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform security tests on internal and/or external networks, applications, and systems. Design tests and tools to attempt to probe for vulnerabilities and compromise security-protected applications and networks.
  • Conduct physical assessments of servers, systems, and network device security.
  • Develop and use testing methods to pinpoint methods attackers could use to exploit weaknesses by conducting network and system security audits that evaluate the effectiveness of the target network’s security controls.
  • Following testing, the Penetration Tester must document their findings, write security reports, and discuss solutions with client IT teams and management.
  • Provide feedback and verification after mitigating controls have been implemented.
  • Willingness and ability to keep up with the latest methods for ethical hacking, testing, and evaluate new penetration testing tools.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of organizational security policies and recommend improvements if needed.
  • Participate in Conversant projects as necessary.
  • Other duties as required.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience conducting penetration tests.
  • Experience developing and analyzing security tests and evaluation reports.
  • Knowledge of penetration testing frameworks and models (e.g., NIST 800-15, OSSTMM, OWASP, PTES, Cyber Kill Chain, MITER ATT&CK, etc.)
  • Ability and willingness to travel may be required to support client engagements.
  • Experience in information assurance, engineering, or operational support including supporting information operations, Cyber operations, system administration, and systems security
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations: NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53/53A, HIPAA, ISO:27001, and other cyber security frameworks
  • Critical thinking: creative and questioning nature to sustain a professional skepticism and proactively identify potential issues.
  • One or more IT certifications or immediate plans to achieve one (e.g., OSCP, GPEN, CPT, CEPT, CEH, CISSP, etc.)
  • Superb verbal communication skills, especially when communicating complex concepts to non- technical audiences.
  • Excellent written communication skills, especially related to report writing.
  • Active listening skills and the ability to identify client needs effectively.
  • Self-motivated and ambitious with a strong work ethic and the desire to work within a collaborative team.
  • Ability to form relationships across all levels of the company while modeling Conversant’s culture and values.

About This Position

Serving as a Senior Business Consultant, you will focus your time building and establishing long-lasting relationships with new and existing clients. You will be responsible for executing all steps of the sales process, from finding new business and uncovering the needs of the customer, to closing the sale, maintaining relationships to build referrals, developing market ideas for your specific market, and beyond.

You will need to have excellent networking skills and bring a consultative sales approach to help generate new relationships with businesses who are looking to solve their infrastructure and security challenges.

To be successful in this role, you must be a high achiever with a continual learner mentality who demonstrates resiliency and persuasiveness. You must define yourself as a consultative relationship builder with a passion for helping clients achieve their objectives.

Markets

Our targeted markets include the following: Cincinnati, OH, Cleveland, OH, Washington DC, St Louis, MO, Houston, TX, Dallas, TX, San Diego, CA, Los Angeles, CA and San Francisco, CA and the greater Bay area. We are looking for experienced Business Consultants in all of these markets. There is no requirement to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Find and develop prospects with a hunter mentality by cold calling, direct selling, networking, referrals, and leads generated through Conversant’s marketing program.
  • Work diligently to earn a deep understanding of our customer's business and technical requirements.
  • Engage with clients to build rapport while uncovering significant needs to position appropriate solutions that create value and efficiencies.
  • Work deals with a consultative selling approach and establish a trusted advisor relationship in order to determine the prospect's needs, create engagement, alignment, desire, and acceptance of Conversant’s solutions.
  • Achieve consistent goal and quota achievement while taking challenges head on to achieve excellence.
  • Participate in Conversant projects as necessary.
  • Aid Accounting in collections activities as needed.
  • Achieve sales certifications in all applicable products and services required within your market and industry segments.
  • Work alongside Conversant Group’s sales support, enterprise solution sales engineering, order management, partner relationship management, and marketing teams.
  • Other duties as required.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Associate degree in relevant field strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in selling infrastructure, security sales, or value-added reseller sales.
  • Specialization in Cisco, HPE, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Citrix, and/or other equivalent systems required.
  • Previous demonstrated success prospecting, building a solid pipeline of opportunities, moving opportunities through the sales cycle, and presenting and discussing solutions with C-level, other decisions-makers, and influencers.
  • Experience selling in the following industries highly preferred: legal, manufacturing, logistics, energy, financial.
  • Excellent collaboration and influencing skills with the ability to successfully bring together internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  • Dedication to high quality customer service delivery and integrity through proven client and customer relationships.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills as well as solid writing skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
    • There will be some occasional travel to sales kick-offs and conferences; however, most travel is in the control of the Business Consultant.
