Bio:

I am a Senior Network Engineer with more than 25 years of experience in building and supporting networks. While I began with building PCs, peer-to-peer networks, and data/voice cabling in 1990, my passion for the profession drove me to keep learning. Since then, I have gained valuable experience working with a wide range of LAN/WAN networks, switches, routers, firewalls, taps, and wireless technologies and I have also earned numerous certifications to complement my hands-on experience.

I have extensive experience in Data Centers, Cyber Security, Project Management, and am an expert with TCP/IP subnetting (including visualizing those designs into Visio diagrams). I have successfully led teams on many project implementations (both large and small), and along the way, I have successfully trained other engineers and technicians – both on my teams as well as for my customers. I have gained this experience in a variety of vertical markets including banks, legal, government, and utilities – particularly nuclear plants – where attention to detail, high security, and customer satisfaction are critical.

Role:

In my current role, I have been implementing and supporting switches, firewalls, and wireless access points from a variety of vendors (including Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, and HPE [Hewlett Packard Enterprise]). I enjoy the challenge of performing network discovery while documenting in detail for upgrades and new implementations, where my skills and experience enable me to be a great asset on a team or lead when needed.
