I am a born and raised Chattanooga native who moved away for college, then came back home. While in high school and college, I would intern for John and Elaina during winter and summer breaks doing whatever they needed from shredding papers to organizing customer accounts. While getting my bachelor’s degree from Maryville College, I worked as a babysitter, librarian, resident assistant, student ambassador, and admission’s counselor assistant. I love helping people and making them smile, but I never imagined having a career in IT could allow that. I also never saw myself in a sales role. Slowly but surely with a little of John’s help, I learned I could help people through my job no matter how large or small the task. Outside of work and helping people, I like to be outdoors (paddleboard, kayak, hike), at a concert, playing board games, or watching movies.
I started at Conversant Group as an Inside Sales Account Manager. John immediately put me in charge of learning a new CRM he had purchased, transferring all the data from our old CRM, and training the sales team on the new CRM. I also was his right-hand woman at assisting in deal registrations and quotes. For a period of time, RFP’s, renewals, and orders were added to my role.
Five years later, I am now a Business Consulting Associate, so deal registrations and quotes are my main job priorities. I also now oversee renewals and licensing audits. My time at Conversant has taught me so much about the products we sell and the technology industry in general. I’ve acquired my knowledge by watching webinars, taking partner training sessions, and listening to our engineers as they talk to each other as well as customers. I enjoy receiving customer requests (calls or emails), because it means I get to make someone’s life a little easier. I think my biggest strength for my job, besides being a people person, is being a perfectionist. I cannot let something go, whether it be an email or a quote unless it is perfect. Since I create the deal registrations and quotes, I have a hand in pretty much every single deal that happens at Conversant Group. That means closely working with my fellow employees, our partners, and our clients. Having clear communication is critical.
The great thing about working at Conversant Group is that no day will ever be the same. We go along with an ever changing industry. Our business philosophy is to make work fun. We pride ourselves on being knowledgeable resources with strong work ethics for our clients: listening, learning, and completing whatever tasks necessary in a timely manner to make our customers successful. From products we sell to industry standards and even new technologies, details are important. Being located in a central city like Chattanooga means partners and customers can visit any time. Many things have changed in my time here, for the better, and I cannot wait to see where we go in the future.
